Artist's Comments

I will update this when I scan the images properly and reprint the left side image to be less dusty and clean edged. The times are:

left image:
24 seconds
10 second burn on bottom 5 second doge in middle
f/16 with a 2 filter

right side:
18 seconds
10 second burn on roof shingles
f/16 with a 2 filter

Enjoy. :)

Absolutely lovely, I never did try darkroom while I was at school, though I wish I had.

17 inches of wholesome goodness, I am of course talking about my Laptop.

Oh wow, Alicia. You are so good with the darkroom! I love the diptych. This looks like you've pulled this out of a book. I'm so glad you've decided to take share the photos you're doing with us. These are so inspiring!

The subject looks so pensive... I want to know what she's thinking!

Wow hun this are gorgeous! (I really need to do more darkroom)

I think the left is great with the dust and jagged edge. Gives it a kind of personality

I really like the setting... somewhat the juxtaposition between one full glass and another one empty really appeals to me...

Definitely refreshing from you, Alicia

Wow amazing, I love the old-black and white effect, you are very talented with dark room- I want to see more from you~!!
These photos remind me of the ones my mum has kept from the 1960s, and that's a big compliment! It's difficult to pull off something so conceptual, but you've done it perfectly.:cuddle::love::+fav:

Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not.

 Thank you! I'm getting better now that I spend a lot of time in there. They're separate picture but I took them to be in sequence so I just had to put them together :aww:

I've been wanting to share with you guys but I get nervous people won't like my film stuff as much as my digital. :(

It's my mommy! :giggle:

I liked the idea of it and I shot the still life first and then I saw my mom looking out the window to check the weather and I asked her to take the glass of OJ and do it again and I love how it came out. I don't do many series like this but I like what I've done here!

I'm so glad you like this, Katie. :) That means a lot to me! I was nervous to submit film work here.

The dark room is so difficult at first, but it's so therapeutic once you get in there. So far, I'm loving the film! Do you use a scanner at school or do you scan the prints at home?
